Prayers of St Anthony of Padua
Prayer of the Pilgrims at Padua
O dear Saint Anthony,
look upon me here before your relic/image.
I have come to pray to you
driven by my own need
and trusting in your
renowned bountiful generosity.
I ask you
to present my requests before God,
to speak in my name to the
Father of Mercies,
and to obtain for me
the favour I most need.
(Mention request in silence)
I admit that my faith is weak,
yet remembering how strong was
your own faith
and how you revived it in others
by your preaching,
I ask you to make my faith
purer and stronger.
As you lived a truly Gospel life,
so help me to make my life
more Christian
that I may be a worthy child
of our Father in heaven
O Saint Anthony, my protector,
I always rely on
your intercession before God
and I ask you
to come to the aid of my weakness
to drive away all infirmities
and dangers of soul and body
and help me to trust in God
especially in times of trial
and sorrow.
Bless my work, my family,
obtain for all who trust in you
kindness of heart towards
the poor and the suffering;
and may we all come at last
to the presence of
Our Lord Jesus Christ
who lives and reigns for ever.
Amen
